As part of V/Vm 365 GASHcast Presents DJ Bruja's Mix of the January releases from the project (more mixes to come depending on the feedback). V/Vm has previously been featured on Radio 1's Breezeblock and consists of "experimental" tracks. This will probably be the last ever project from the record label ever so grab your vinyls, CDs and MP3s while they're hot cus it's all bootlegs from here on in.

"I've been mixing for over a year, taught by my Friend Bazz who is a hard house DJ... I got bored of Hard house pretty quickly and stopped DJing for a while, but when I was sat outside a Stumblefunk (Manchester Based Breaks + DnB) tent in Sheffield over the summer I heard some sounds that motivated me to spend all the money I can ever scrape together on vinyl! Breakbeat Vinyl :)

We squatted a pub for a while, and in that pub we had many, many parties! That was ace because I played a set at all of them and was good to be able to play in front of people while I was learning, it sorta broke the stage fright barrier.. (Although not completely!)

Recently I'm being quite "distracted" by jungle and Drum n Bass.. because I love it!!! (Not quite as much as Breaks... not quite..) so hopefully more of that to come!"

GASHcast #11 - DJ Bruja's GASH Xmas Bash 2004 Mix - (21.3 mb - 37 minutes) -

After hours and hours of GASH in the eye partying at the GASH Xmas Bash 2004 the club was a mess. It looked like a battlefield. There was wreckage, smoke, people strewn across the floor and bruised and battered survivors crawling about. A few of the Hardcore people propped themselves up against the bar and downed yet more drinks as it didn't seem to make a difference anymore. The early hours of the morning were hitting people hard, a large number of people had already retreated back to the trenches to nurse hangovers. Then, slowly but surely from the speakers drifted the calming vibes of Barber's Adagio for Strings. Little did the survivors know that the huge soundsystem was about to strike again...when they least expected it....when everyone was falling asleep...this was a wake up call, DJ Bruja style.
